In the short film Kuwento ng Mga Aninong Sumasayaw (Tale of Dancing Shadows), three children tell the story of how pangalay was researched and documented by Teacher Ligaya (Amilbangsa) through the use of her own shadow cast against a wall by a lighted candle. In the 1970s when Amilbangsa started her research, there was no electricity in Tawi-Tawi. The film with animation runs for 20 minutes. The short film was written and directed by Nannette Matilac, animation and editing by Ellen Ramos, principal photography by direction by Neil Daza, and music by Pearlsha Abubakar.
The online film showing will be followed by a demonstration of pangalay movements with remote audience participation. An open forum with pangalay teachers will also be conducted.
